Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrated

Southern Railway has risen to the occasion once again by standing for the unity of this nation. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations organised by Southern Railway in Chennai on 31 October witnessed a participation of over 400 railway personnel.
Flagged off by Southern Railway General Manager R K Kulshrestha at Sivananda Salai it began from Doordarshan Kendra and covered MLA Hostel, Rajaji Hall, Tamilnadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital, Omandurar Government Estate and came back to Doordarshan Kendra.
Earlier, General Manager administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to the officers and staff of Southern Railway and students of Railway School.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed on 31 October every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Similar Runs for Unity were also conducted at all the divisions of Southern Railway namely Salem, Trichy, Madurai, Palakkad and Trivandrum.
