Lack of promotion, support has become the reason behind the present crisis in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the well known public sector undertaking company, said Dayanidhi Maran. He is contesting the forthcoming general elections from Chennai Central constituency and was also a former minister with the central government.
Priority should be for the public sector undertaking, when private companies emerge as the chosen ones, public sector companies will be ones to lose. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving a boost to the private companies while sidelining the PSUs, the intension is to take the public sector companies to an all time low and privatise them.
This isn’t all, he said. The central investigation agencies are being misused under the present central government. It is all for unleashing a wave of problems on opposition parties, the investigation agencies of the centre are being put to use. He reminded that there were lot of raids, but none of them witnessed an investigation.
It looks like these raids are an attempt to defame parties that are not aligned with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Undue use of central investigative agencies for conducting raids make it feel as if it is some kind of undeclared emergency.
Speaking about NDA government, he said, Narendra Modi went on a spree of visiting foreign nations after he became the Prime Minister. He went on trips he could not go as Chief Minister of Gujarat. There are lot of things they (NDA) promised. Generation of jobs, depositing of money of Rs 15 lakhs in all the bank accounts were among them, they are yet to be fulfilled.
Demise of Kalainjar Karunanidhi has created a vaccum for us, he is a leader who has found a place in the hearts of the people. Contesting the elections without him makes us feel lonely, but we are confident of getting support from the people and winning 40 seats.
Owing to certain differences we did not become a part of UPA, but seeing the problems unleashed in the country during the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime, the decision was made to become a part of UPA and put an end to those problems, he said.
