Plans are there to build water reservoirs at various places in Chennai, said Sam Paul, candidate contesting from central Chennai for the forthcoming general elections on behalf of PMK party. He was addressing a press at his residence recently.
We are discussing lot of issues at our campaign including water shortage. Government of Tamilnadu is working towards building reservoirs to tackle the problem of water scarcity in Chennai, as a part of that we are in discussions with Chief Minister of Tamilnadu to construct an exclusive reservoir in Thiruvallur.
Aim is to realise our (PMK) vision for an urban city as mentioned in ‘Naam Virumbum Chennai,’ a book released recently. As our party leader Anbumani Ramdoss says, our belief is in clean, decent and educated politics. No image has been slandered for the sake of my growth.
I have invited opposition for discussion and debate about issues at a public forum, but they are running smear campaigns against me. It is surprising that they are encouraging violation of election code of conduct.
Image of him holding a dumbel which appeared in a popular newspaper has been morphed into one where he is shown holding a liquor bottle. I held the dumbel to represent the chain of gyms I own, the dumbel was morphed into a liquor bottle, said Sam Paul.
There are lot of issues which we can raise against the opposition, we have decided to stick to the point of positive campaign as suggested by our party leadership. I assure you once again that I have a clean track record and have no negative habits.
An employee working for 12 years with me has also not been spared. Her image has been slandered with considering the fact that she is a married. These kind of activities demotivate youngsters, educated people and first time voters, he said.
It is cheap tricks like these that discourage youngsters, educated people from entering into politics, we will lodge a complaint with Election Commission and Commissioner of Police. Complaint will be lodged against Dhayanidhimaran of the opposition party, he said.
