Dengue Awareness Programme at Velammal School

Velammal Main School, Mogappair Campus, Middle school department, hosted a Dengue awareness programme on 10th November, to bring in the effective ways of preventing Dengue and the objective to safeguard the children from Aedes mosquitoes.
The guest of honour Dr. S. Krishnamoorthy, Senior Consultant, General Medicine, Apollo Hospitals, Vanagaram, vividly explained the facts about Aedes, its symptoms and steps to avoid Dengue from mosquitoes that carries aedes. He emphasised the importance of cleanliness to the surroundings and avoid storing water in an open container especially when its not in use regularly and get rid of all the things that are stucked in a dark places to prevent the outbreak of Dengue. He also spoke about the breeding places of mosquitoes. He also suggested measures to be taken at home and asked the students to inform the parents and neighbours on the necessity of keeping the surroundings clean.
The session was impormative, useful and lively.
