Mozambique naval personnel in Chennai for training

Name of India is spreading far and wide, its capability has won the recognition globally. The proof of this was available in Chennai when Mozambique naval officers arrived here for training on interceptor boats.
The training is a part of the international co-operation between the two nations where in Government of India had given its consent to donate two interceptor boats to Mozambique Navy. 
This assumes greater significance in a situation where  two nations are working closely on issues of security, and maritime safety in the Indian Ocean. India and Mozambique have stepped up mutual co-operation and have now taken it to the next level of military training in addition to economic and political relation.
A senior defence official said the training programme is being conducted in two groups for 14 personnel each.  The first group of seven officers and seven PBOR have arrived in Chennai and training commenced from 5th of this month and will go on till 16 November.  
The second group would be joining in the first week of December. The training scheduled for these personnel is specially formulated to give hands-on-experience in handling the interceptor boats by the Coast Guard officers and subordinate officers who have considerable experience in these class of vessels.
The training enables the Mozambique Navy personnel to get acquainted with the nuances of operating these highly versatile boats which are filled with state of the art equipment and sensors.
