Corona Virus and Media in a changing society

Corona or Covid-19 has become deadly in all countries not only in developed countries but even in Russia and India.

It is a major disaster like an earthquake or some such natural calamity and has ruined people’s lives and economies and thanks to efforts countries as Britain is slowly gaining hope and opening up. May be as bad as world war III or some such it has played a disastrous effect on people and living. As rightly said by PM Modi India is fighting this disease effectively.

The governments of Tamil Nadu and India are doing good jobs as for combating corona but that is not enough. There are more efforts are needed to solve the problem of corona and save people from its clutches.

The developed countries as the USA or Europe the impact of the corona have been more and have been devastating also. These countries are doing all that is possible to stop and eradicate corona menace and its impacts.

Media can pivotal role in this process of informing educating and enlightening people on corona and preventive steps needed for saving people from its grip.

Media articles TV shops online report on corona disease and how it can be stopped and the like Even in America, President Trump is doing well on corona and launched a massive advocacy campaign as PM Modi has done in India. 

Media can play an agenda-setting role in giving importance to corona and its impact and educate people on corona and its bad effects and how one can cure himself or herself of the corona.

Media can collect opinion leader’s views on corona and pass it to policymakers and people or vice versa.

Media can focus on how developing and developed nations treat corona and what breakthroughs work effectively against the disease and how such strategies can be implemented in India.

The case studies of advanced nations and others in the treatment of corona could be found and shared with concerned people

There was a cancer campaign by Indian cancer society during the 1970s or 80s which says Life after cancer it is worth living and similar campaign in media can also be launched saying Life after corona is worth living etc.

More media campaigns on success stories of people who got corona and later cured of the disease can be launched also.

Thus media can play an all-out role against this epidemic and cures could be suggested. The wordings of PM Modi or President Trump could be focused often.

President Trump was wondering of so many deaths as 9/11 and Pearl Harbor attack during World War II is less compared to this one from the epidemic.

Such statements could be repeated in media to show the seriousness of the issue Leading medical practitioner’s view on preventing corona be showcased in the media and to get people’s attention to this problem and how one can prevent it from attack.

Prevention of corona news could also be created and focused so that people can save themselves from the disease. Thus an all-out effort is needed on part of people and media to create awareness on corona and strategies preventing it as well.
