‘I am not a political astrologer’: Mamata Banerjee on who will lead the proposed opposition alliance against BJP
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who set a goal to join the opponent against the BJP, Mamata said “she cannot significantly related to the leader of the proposed union because she doesn’t make political astrology’s.”
The West Bengal chief minister said the matter of supervision would count on the circumstance and hierarchy and added that she has no difficulty if somebody else governs the alliance.
“I prefer to support all the opposition parties to perform an act. I don’t wish to be a leader, but a simple corps,” Mamata said when raised a question about her existing the face of the opposition alliance.
“Whenever the consequence is examined we can determine. I cannot impose. I am an ordinary worker and wish to proceed as a worker,” Mamata confessed on the leadership topic.
‘Situation more serious than the Emergency’
On the Pegasus row, Mamata said the circumstance in the country is extremely severe, more intense than the Emergency.
“Everywhere ED and IT are coming for raids. Here there is no acknowledgment. In a democracy, the government has to answer back,” she said.
She had persuaded the Prime Minister to instruct a Supreme Court surveyed investigation into the Pegasus snooping declarations.
She had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Later speaking to reporters, she named it a courtesy call.
Mamata meets Sonia, says ‘expecting effective outcomes in coming years’
Mamata Banerjee also greeted Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her residence. Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi was also existing at the meeting.
Illustrating the discussion as “positive”, Banerjee said she talked about the political circumstance in the country as well as opposition unity with the Gandhi’s.
“It was an extremely fortunate meeting and I believe positive outcomes in the future,” the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo said.
