Goa Forward Party MLA Vijay Sardesai alleges political interference in Benaulim gangrape investigation
The opposition divide toward the government’s document in prosecuting rape accused, especially those accused of gang rape cases. Putting up with the charge in cornering the government, Goa Forward Party (GFP) MLA Vijai Sardesai said that after arresting the people involved in rape, the criminal should be charged and punished in the court of law.
Sardesai furthermore asserted that significant ministers are attempting to influence the inquiry towards the gang rape of two young girls at Benaulim beach early on Sunday by four men who presented as policemen. However Sawant vociferously disputed the declarations of political involvement, he eventually confessed that one of the four accused is a driver with the agriculture department.
“The trial should be soon,” Sardesai said. “The gang rape of 2018 is abandoned and the trial has not begun yet. We adequately salute the police for arresting the accused, but anything doesn’t go on after that. You have to carry the culprit to the task.”
Sardesai said that the Madhya Pradesh history-sheeter Ishwar Makwana is however running off, with no growth earned in arresting him or beginning the trial. “Punishment should be carried and the case should be accelerated. Only then can we assert that this government is serious about law and order.”
The matter occurred for discussion after Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao expressed trouble over the last gang-rape case at Benaulim.
“These are 14-15-year-old girls and the four accused, who have been arrested, should give life custody. Nobody should encourage the police to attempt and discharge the accused. From what I listen, the police station is receiving a ton of calls,” Alemao said.
Sardesai affirmed Alemao and said that a minister was attempting to infringe in the inquiry into the gang rape at Benaulim beach. “My charge is that there is political involvement,” he said.
The allegation urged Sawant to dive to his feet in shield of Goa police. Sawant questioned Sardesai to accept the name of the minister or abolish his charge, which the Fatorda MLA declined to do.
While Sardesai pursued confirmation from the government that procedure will be carried against those arrested and blamed of rape and gang rape, MGP MLA Ramakrishna Sudin Dhavalikar requested for an inquiry into experiments to influence the inquiry into the Benaulim gangrape case.
