Before the 2022 state assembly polls, the government of Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh can be witnesses to its third and last cabinet expansion.
According to sources, the names of recruits for the expansion have been finalised, and the central leadership is awaiting a final OK after many rounds of negotiations with senior brass and the RSS. BJP would strive to balance caste and regional factors before the polls by cabinet enlargement. Sources indicate that no more than 10 ministers may be in the cabinet while four can be dismissed from the cabinet. It is believed that the party would attempt to approach other castes, including the OBCs, Brahmins, through the cabinet expansion.
In the mouth of the mood, the heads of UP BJP Swatantra Dev Singh and General Secretary of Organizations Sunil Bansal travelled on Monday for Delhi.
There are now 23 cabinet ministers, nine indigenous ministers and 22 Yogi cabinet ministers, with a total of 54. Six ministerial positions are now empty, according to the regulations. Six new ministers can still be called in this circumstance even if the government of Yogi doesn’t dismiss any minister from the cabinet. Four ministers have been reported to be unsatisfactory in their job, and they might be alleviated.
