SRMIST proves its mettle in hockey

There is a happy news on the sports front for SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST). Its hockey team (men) won south zone inter university hockey tournament.

SRMIST hockey team secured first place in the tournament while second place went to Bengaluru Central University and Bangalore University won the third position and Madras University stood fourth position in the tournament.

Earlier, SRMIST defeated Acharya Nagarajuna University of Andhra Pradesh with a score of six in the quarter finals. SRMIST defeated Bangalore University with a score of 4 in the league matches.

The game between SRMIST and Bengaluru Central University ended in a tie in the league matches, SRMIST’s beat University of Madras with a score of six in the league match.

Four teams have been qualified for All India Inter University Hockey Men Tournament which will be held at LNIPE in Gwalior during November this year.
