Tamilnadu gets three passenger sewa trains

There is happy news for people of Tamilnadu on railway front. Southern Railway introduced three passenger sewa train services in the state.

Sources from the railways say that the services are introduced to ensure better connectivity with smaller towns and important cities. While 10 sewa trains have been introduced across India, three of them are introduced in Tamilnadu.

These trains will be flagged off on 15 October through video conferencing by Union Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in the presence of Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi. Local functions will be held at Salem, Coimbatore and Pollachi to introduce the trains in Tamilnadu.

Sewa trains introduced in Tamilnadu are Salem-Karur-Salem DEMU, Palani – Coimbatore- Palani Passenger and Pollachi – Coimbatore- Pollachi Passenger services.

Salem-Karur DEMU
Train No.76801/76802 Salem-Karur-Salem DEMU service (six days a week except Sundays) Train No.76801 Salem-Karur DEMU service  will depart from Salem at 1.40 pm and reach Karur at 3.25 pm the same day.

Train No.76802 Karur-Salem DEMU service  will commence from Karur at 11.40 am and reach Salem at 1.25 pm the same day.  These services will have stoppages at Vangal, Mohanur, Namakkal, Kalangani, Rasipuram and Mallur. The trains will run for six days a week except Sundays from both directions.

Coimbatore- Palani- Coimbatore
Train No. 56609/56608  Coimbatore- Palani- Coimbatore Passenger service (daily) Train No.56609 Coimbatore-Palani daily passenger will leave Coimbatore Junction at 1.45 pm and reach Palani at 4.40 pm the same day.

Train No.56608 Palani-Coimbatore Daily Passenger will depart from Palani at 10.45 am and reach Coimbatore Junction at 2.10 pm the same day. These trains will have stoppages at  Pushpattur, Madathukulam, Maivadi Road, Udumalaipettai, Gomangalam, Pollachi, Kinattukkadavu and Podanur.

Pollachi- Coimbatore- Pollachi
Train No. 56184/56183 Pollachi- Coimbatore- Pollachi  Passenger Service (6 days a week except Sundays) 
Train No.56184 Pollachi – Coimbatore Passenger will leave Pollachi at 7.30 am and reach Coimbatore Junction at 8.40 am the same day. Train No.56183 Coimbatore-Pollachi Passenger will depart from Coimbatore Junction at 5.45 am and reach Pollachi at 7.00 am the same day. These trains will have stoppages at Podanur and Kinattukkadavu and will run for six days a week except Sundays from both directions.
