Remembering SRIDEVI’S 300th and Last movie – MOM

Mom is a 2017 Hindi Indian crime thriller film directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal and Gautam Jain released on July 7, just three years ago from today.
The film mainly stars Sridevi who is playing the role of a stepmother (Devki Sabarwal) of her daughter Arya Sabarwal. Nawazuddin Siddique, Akshay Khanna is also playing an important role in the movie.
The film basically overlaps the concept that a mother MOM is a gift of God to each and every person on the Earth and that gift cares for the child and can cross any boundary to gain justice for her child and take revenge from those who hurt her child.
Sridevi is playing the role of a very strong, caring mother who is hated by her daughter as she is not her real mother, but what she has done for her daughter is more than any real mother could have done. Sridevi or Devki is a biology teacher in the school and is the class teacher of her stepdaughter’s class which is not liked by her daughter.
Some of the boys of Arya’s class want Arya to be in their control and when she denies, all the good things transform into hell, when she was kidnapped by the 4 boys including his classmate Mohit and was raped and thrown into a sewer.
Things turned harsher when Arya lost the court case because of the rich and strong background of Mohit and one of his friends.

As it is always said that a mother is a goddess Durga when she is calm and becomes goddess Kali when she sees injustice around her. The same happened with Devki as well, from a common calm teacher and mother she turned into an angry, strong, and aggressive mother who was dying to take revenge from her daughter’s culpable criminal.
With the help of a secret detective DK (Nawazuddin Siddique) who was also a father of a daughter, she searched for the facts about the four boys and one by one attacked them all. News of the death of each criminal was a light of hope of the future for her daughter Arya.
When three of the criminals were given their punishment, the Sabarwal family went for a picnic, and they reached the fourth and most dangerous criminal to kill the whole family.
Fortunately, with the help of some spycams of DK, Akshay Khanna the investigating officer of Arya’s case reached the point and gave Devki a chance to kill him as well. This whole when watched by Arya, she realized the importance of her mother in her life and her sacrifices for her.
The movie overall is based on an amazing concept and it’s really very interesting watching how Devki takes revenge from the criminals of her daughter how sharply and nicely she did it all. This reflects the hidden emotions of a mother for her child, which a child can never understand.
