Netflix’s Movie Review BULBBUL

Bulbbul is a Hindi language Netflix supernatural drama Movie written and directed by Anvita Dutt and produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma. Actors Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Paoli Dam, Rahul Bose and Parambrata Chattopadhyay are in lead roles.

The story is a plot in Bengal, and about a small girl Bulbbul who is married in very early age, when she even don’t know the meaning of marriage, but she is quite happy as she is considering Satya his husband and thinking of a childish future where she will play with him, and listen ghost stories from him. But she was shocked when she got to know that Satya’s elder brother Indranil is her husband and not Satya.

She even after knowing that fact stabilises herself, and used to relax and feel happy with the presence of Satya at home. Indranil then started finding a bride for Satya as well, but as Satya wasn’t interested in marriage, they decided to send him to London for his further studies. After Satya’s flight off to London, Bulbbul got emotional and started crying, seeing the diary in which she wrote the bright memories spent with Satya, and burnt all those pages of the diary in frustration. Indranil got a small paper part of that diary where he saw Satya-Bulbbul was written. On seeing this, he went to Bulbbul and beat her with an iron rod. She got uncountable strains in her body, and was asked by doctor to take complete rest because she was affected at legs the most. When she was resting in her room, Mahendra ( brother of Indranil) who was mentally abnormal came and raped Bulbbul and she died at the same moment.

When Mahendra saw that Bulbbul is now no more, re ran away leaving her all alone. But she was revived because of Goddess Kali’s miracle. One by one all the men of that area were killed who disrespected the women including Mahendra by a supernatural power which was living in Bulbbul’s body. When Satya came from London and investigated for the deaths, he just burned the body unknowingly that the soul was some power but the body was of Bulbbul. Satya regretted what he did leaving his brother Indranil alone. Movie ends with the death of Indranil by Supernatural soul of Bulbbul.

Story overall is very interesting and worth watching, and leaves a great message.
