Just assume or think that your photo comes in the morning newspaper but a condolence message is written in front of your name. In reality, such an act has happened that made a human being a ghost. Satish Kaushik comes with another hit ‘Kaagaz’ which is a biographical comedy-drama on Lal Bihari- a poor farmer from a small village in Uttar Pradesh who was unfortunately declared dead on official government papers. As always Pankaj Tripathi comes with another phenomenal performance and so is Monal Gajjar as his wife.
The story is all about the unbelievable biography of Lal Bihari who was legally declared dead on paper because of some corrupt bureaucrats in the era of the 1970s and how he fought the corrupt system for 18 years long to prove himself alive. Director Satish Kaushik tried to determine the true incident in one hour 49 minutes. During all this chaos Bharat ( Pankaj Tripathi) gets some help from a politician (Mita Vashisht) and a lawyer (Satish Kaushik), but he is mostly alone in his struggle of a piece of papers that will confirm that he is a flesh and blood person rather than a corpse.
Every character played an outstanding role, especially Pankaj Tripathi he is the charm of this film, and his comic timing, amazing acting is on another level. The film has humor, emotions, innovative concept, and many things that society needs to learn. Credit goes to Salman khan for introducing this film with real actors like this. The film’s intentions lay bare the working of the political and justice system that reduces people to mere barcodes and numbers this is the best thing about the movie.
It’s a highly recommended movie because such films deserve greater attention and the second great USP about this film after Pankaj Tripathi’s performance are dialogues written by Imtiaz Hussain every single dialogue is magnificent. However, the film sometimes never blooms to its fullest potential.
