The 17th edition of Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) featuring films from the world’s most prestigious festivals in 2019 began from the 12th December and Screens were been Projected and audience were entertained for a whole lot of week until the 19th December this 2019.
The CIFF has been now a part of Culture and tradition of Chennai. Individuals have been waiting year long, only for this festival where excelling special movies selected worldwide comes with Grand Grandeur, and all its Gala to the Screens of Chennai where Movie Buff’s and Individuals who Delight in the Movies get this Season time to Experience and Feel these movies coming true.
These Seven days, where different theater’s in Chennai were been Screened with different movies would certainly be a Dream Come true for any Movie Buff .
This Festival was inaugurated by Excellencies Ambassador who were in the Inauguration session on 12th December. The inaugural film was Parasite, the first Korean film to win the Palme d’Or at Cannes this year was received well. This movie that has banged so many awards has totally been a pride for the Chennaiites to Host the Festival.
The festival had showcased 130 films from 55 countries over the one week, which certainy had let to the peaks and an Overwhelming response. Films to look out for include Amori, a Konkani film that won the National Award and French film Portrait of a Lady on Fire that won the Queer Palm at Cannes.
The films will be screened at different recognized theatre in the city like, Devi theatre, Tagore Film Centre NFDC, Russian Cultural Centre, Casino theatre and SDC Anna Theatre through the course of the festival that ends on 19 December in the most prestigious manner and an expectation that would be in the hearts of every Chennai resident, for the next years Chennai International Film Festival.
