Kerala Food Festival 2019

KERALA FOOD FESTIVAL is an event for the traditional authentic delicacies from God’s Own Country presents by an Award Winner Chef N.Saraswathi Viswanathan from Kerala from 21st to 30th June 2019 at Hotel Regenta Central Deccan.

The festival used to conduct imaginative and innovative food promotions/events for gourmet delight and enjoyment of the cross-section society of Chennai. On this occasion the management of Hotel Regenta Central Deccan felecitated and honoured Chef Ms.Saraswathi Viswanathan with an award “Samayal Kalai Arasai” in the presence of Mr. R.Gowri Shankar, General Manager of the hotel.

Kerala food festival delicacies will be presented and prepared by Chef N. Saraswathi Viswanathan, the award winning and an entrepreneur from Thrissur, Kerala. She is known as the high priestess of cooking which promises a true vegetarian and nostalgic delight. She started learning how to cook from her parents from her tender age of 12 and from then on she assissted her parents in the kitchen.

My father, the late Sri.Narayanan is my inspiration in my cooking passion. He used to experiment in cooking with new varieties of dishes, and my mother Rugmani is a home science student and she cooks traditional food items, says Chef N.Saraswathy Viswanathan. And my husband Sri. Viswanathan and my sons and son’s friends supports me a lot in this journey of my passion. Above all, with the grace of God, I have come and fulfilled my dreams and I’am dedicating this awards to my father, who always support me and served as my pillar of my life and passion in cooking, she added.

Chef N. Saraswathi’s awards and achievements..

-She created many records in various cooking competition

-She was felicitated with many awards and prizes for her signifin cooking arena
-She created more than 108 dishes within one hour and for that, she is named the record holder in Universal Achievers Book of Records and Future Kalam Book of Records last April 21, 2019
-She obtained Honorary Doctorate from The Universal Tamil University in record breaking for most dishes cooked in one hour.
-She was also awarded with Wonder Woman Award by the Geo Foundation of India for cooking skills, Entrepreneur skills and significant services done to the society.
-She also won First Prize in Bake Off cake baking competition conducted by Caico, for making this Palada Pal Kesari Cake
-She won first prizes in “The Great Kochi bags show” cake baking competition conducted by Home Bakers Group in the Signature rustic cakes and the healthy cake category
-She also won a prize for creating Eggless grain gram halwa cake that was prepared for signature rustic category and eggless multi grain tender coconut cake. It was made for healthy cake category, Better Butter published an exotic recipe book in 2017
– She won a prize in Best Recipes in Valentine Competition conducted by Flavors of Kitchen

Avial, Thoran, Olan, Kaalan, Kootu Kari, Mezhukkuperatti,

The Kerala food festival kicks off from 21st to 30th of June, 2019 at OLIVES Multi- cuisine Restaurant that opens during lunchtime at 12.00 to 3.00 pm and dinnertime at 7.00 to 11.00 pm.
