Maharashtra is the second most populous state of India. Maharashtra is one of the most developed and prosperous Indian state and continues to be the single largest contributor to the national economy with a share of 15% in the country’s GDP. Maharashtra is the land of prosperity, culture, spirituality which has gained growing global recognition as it has preserved its traditions in the wake of advanced industrialization. You will find that people from all the religious backgrounds live peacefully and the people are extremely hospitable and welcoming. Marathi and Hindi are two famous languages that are spoken in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra are ethnically heterogeneous the bhil, warli, gond, korku, govari and dozens of other tribal communities all officially designated as scheduled tribes live on the slopes of western Ghats and the satpura range. Marathas and Kunbis make up the majority of the remainder of the people of Maharashtra. Marathi the official state language is spoken by more than four – fifths  of the population.

The people of this beautiful and vast state wears different types of costumes, take different cuisine has diff different forms of dances and music according to their locality feature. Most popular dance form of Maharashtra is Lavani, Lavani dance which means beauty. Even with the increasing industrialization and urbanization in the state, Maharashtra is one state that has worked to preserve its traditional values and culture. And nearly 60% of the people are involved in agriculture related field. The main food crops of Maharashtra are mangoes, grapes, bananas, oranges, wheat rice, jowar, Bajra, and pulses.
