Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked For The 11th Straight Day

Rates of Petrol, Diesel are now been increased for the regular 11th day varying from state to state. Petrol price on Wednesday was hiked by 55 paise per liter and diesel by 60 paise per liter. With the consecutive increase from the last 11 days, the rise in the petrol price is Rs. 6.02 and Rs. 6.4 diesel.
According to the price notification of state oil marketing companies, In the starting before 11 days, petrol prices in Delhi were increased to Rs. 77.28 per liter from Rs. 76.73 per liter.
Apart from this for diesel rates are increased from Rs. 75.19 to Rs. 75.79. Rates have been continuously increasing all over India while the actual rates vary from state to state depending on local sales tax, or VAT.
This is now 11th straight day of increase since oil companies restarted revising prices from June 7 in the stand of costs, after ending an 82-day hiatus in rate revision.
The freeze in rates was imposed in mid-March soon after the government decided to increase excise duty on petrol, diesel to shore up additional finances.
Oil PSU’s India Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) adjusted the rates against the fall in retail prices except imposing or passing on the excise duty increase on the costumers that is warranted because of fall in international oil prices.
In 11 increase the price of petrol is overall increased by Rs. 6.02 per liter while diesel by Rs. 6.4 per liter which is an increase of 55 paise per liter on petrol and 60 paise per liter on diesel.
