Understanding Aromatherapy and how it can reduce stress?

Stress and anxiety are part and parcel of daily life. Stress manifests itself in a myriad of ways, affecting individuals differently, some symptoms mild some acute and some quite dangerous if not appropriately addressed. Aromatherapy can come to the rescue.

Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils from aromatic plants and trees for therapeutic purposes, assisting to promote the health of the mind, body, and soul through the most popular used and proven modes of application. The use of essential oils in the home can help to create an emotionally and physically healthy environment.

Essential oils are known as the life force of the plant. They are extracted from a variety of different parts of plants, they can be found in the petals or flowering tops, leaves, foliage and twigs, grasses, seeds, fruits and fruit peel, woods and bark, rhizomes, resin, and gums.

If essential oils are used as directed and coupled with several lifestyle changes the benefits are too numerous to count. The following are a myriad of ways essential oils can be used safely in the home to address imbalances caused by stress.

  1. Overall Balance And Freedom From Anxiety

            Mix:

  • Bergamot FCF 14 drops
  • Vetiver 8 drops
  • Patchouli 6 drops
  • Palmarosa 12 drops
  1. Masculine – for Men 
  • Himalayan Cedarwood ( Deodar) 12 drops
  • Nagarmotha 12 drops 
  • Ginger 6 drops 
  • Mandarin 10 drops 
  • Seed oil (jojoba or Almond or Marigold) -100 ml
  1. Feminine – for women 

            Mix:

  • Ylang-Ylang 10 drops 
  • Himalayan Geranium 10 drops 
  • Petitgrain 8 drops 
  • Red Mandarin 12 drops
  • Seed Oil (jojoba or Almond or Moringa) -100 ml

All three of the above blends are to be diluted with 100 ml of jojoba, sweet almond or Moringa base oil – 40 drops, 2 % safe blend, in 100 ml of base oil. Never exceed the recommended dilutions. These blends should be used only on the body and not on the face.

Caution:

Seek Doctors advise if on medication. Use oil burners with caution and keep hot water away from children and animals.
