SRMIST inks pact with CSIR-CBRI

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR-CBRI (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Building Research Institute).

Pact was signed in the presence of Director (CSIR-CBRI)Ā and Director (E and T) SRMIST and the faculty of Civil Engineering department onĀ 20 July.Ā The aim behind the pact happens to be creating a large reservoir of highly qualified manpower in diverse fields related to science and technology.Ā 

It also aims to set up a mechanism for concerted efforts by the institutes to cater to the rapidly growing scientific and technological knowledge and professional excellence in all fields of science and technology.

Director of CSIR-CBRI Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan deliberated on the importance of interdisciplinary research andĀ crucial areas of future research.Ā Dr. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Director (E and T), SRMIST elucidated the perks of inter-institutional research and how it could propel SRMISTā€™s journey towards global eminence.

Joint guidance of student for their projects, joint organization of workshops and seminars, practical training for students at CSIR-CBRI and joint project proposals are some of the highlights of the MoU.Ā The key functional fields of development in this pact would comprise civil engineering, building science, Geology.
