Kargil Vijay Diwas’s 20th anniversary was celebrated on the premises of the institution by planting 527 saplings on its campus on 26 July.

The planting was done in association with NGO Valasai Venghai. The 527 saplings marked their respect to the supreme sacrifice of 527 soldiers during the Kargil war.

Lieutenant General Sanjeev Kanal, Commandant, Major General A Arun, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of OTA along with all the cadets, officers, staff of OTA and NGO representatives participated in the plantation drive to pay homage to their fallen comrades in a special way.

The event assumes greater importance in the view of afforestation drive being carried out across the country to increase the green cover and provide cleaner and healthier environment to the coming generations.
