AICTE chief visits MEC

Conference on machine learning and data science inaugurated

Mahindra Ecole Centrale College of Engineering (MEC) in Hyderabad turned centre of attraction recently when the second international conference of machine learning and data science (ICMLDS 2018) was organised on 21 and 22 December. 
According to sources, AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabuddhe stressed on the need for interdisciplinary education and to evolve AICTE to help students get better education at the inauguration of the two day event.
The programme aimed at bringing together researchers working in the fields of machine learning and big data to discuss about the current trends and future scope of data sciences. 
About 31 research papers were presented during the  conference. Pradeep Chowriappa and Girish Rentala’s presentation on the topic ‘a semi-supervised feature engineering approach for mixed data outlier detection’ was adjudged the best paper and was received the Best Paper award.
Sanguthevar Rajasekaran, director of Booth Engineering Center for Advanced Technologies (BECAT), University of Connecticut, and Chandrajit Bajaj from the Center for Computational Visualization at University of Texas-Austin delivered special lectures.
Director of MEC Yajula Medury, Professor Sartaj Sahni, Professor of Computer Science, University of Florida and Professor Prafulla Kalapatapu from the computer science department at MEC were among others present.  The next edition of the conference will be held on 16 and 17 December 2019.
