Nation has QRSAM, thanks to DRDO

India’s fame rose high again, thanks to Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The prestigious establishment that makes products used by our armed forces has come out with Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missiles (QRSAM).

The happy news is that QRSAM missiles brought by the noted establishment have also been successfully testfired against live aerial targets on August 4. Test firing was done at Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur. 

Two missiles have been test fired against two live targets meeting complete mission objectives of engaging the targets. The systems have been tested in final configuration with RADAR mounted on a vehicle & missiles on the launcher, say sources.

The missiles with many state of the art technologies have engaged the targets at different ranges and altitudes. The systems are equipped with indigenously developed Phased array radar, Inertial Navigation System, Data Link and RF seeker.

The system is being developed for Indian Army with search and track on move capability with very short reaction time. The entire mission was captured by various Electro Optical Tracking Systems, Radar Systems and Telemetry Systems at ITR Chandipur. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO and industries on the significant milestone achieved.
