CG chief meets TN Governor

Director General of Indian Coast Guard K Natarajan met the Governor of Tamilnadu Banwarilal Purohit on 26 September at Raj Bhavan.

Sources from Defence Ministry said the Director General Natarajan met Banwarilal Purohit in the presence of Coast Guard Inspector General S Paramesh, Commander, Coast Guard Region, East and the meet was a courtesy call.

Governor received a brief about developments regarding Indian Coast Guard in Tamilnadu. Discussions were also focused on strengthening the maritime domain of the coastal state of Tamilnadu.

Governor was also briefed on the progress of future developments. He was also assured that Indian Coast Guard would continue providing rescue and relief to the fishermen whenever they are in distress at sea. Director General acknowledged the efforts of the state administration in strengthening coastal security mechanism.
