HOSTEL DAY CELEBRATED IN HCAS

The Hindustan College of Arts and Science celebrated Hostel day last Feb.1, Friday in the presence of Dr. Susan Marthandon, Director, as Chief Guest. In her speech, she nostalgically reminisced her hostel days. She said, she is glad of Warden for his words and treatment to the students. She spoke of hostels helping to students that comes to classes on time and said hostel atmosphere matters a lot and recollected her childhood hostel experience and the relevance in curricular activities.
The Principal, Dr. S. Thirumagan and the Deputy Director of Academics, Dr. V.J. Phillip Warden and Mr. A. Arokiasamy participated in the event.  In his special speech Dr. S. Thirumagan said importance of avoiding bad habits in hostellers, of good atmosphere for education prevailing in hostels. Studying hard and asked students of hostels to utilise all pro active situations to become strong on all fronts, he added. While Warden said, that the hostellers are his children as he quoted in Tamil and looks after them very well.
Dr. VJ Phillip Deputy Director Academics spoke on becoming civil in life and emphasized role of staying in a hostel.
Miss K.P. Tuttu Asst. Prof. of Visual Communication proposed a vote of thanks thanking everyone who made this occasion a success. For 100% attendance to classes prizes were distributed an all entertaining cultural program followed and dinner was served at end.
 The affair was started with prayer with college Chaplin Rev Joby Verghese conducted the prayer.
