HCAS Tamil Department Organizes Pongal Vizha

HCAS conducted Pongal Vizha,a Tamil festival in its campus on January 4, 2019. Mr. Mannar Mannan, writer and historical researcher was the Chief Guest. In his speech, he emphasized mainly on illiteracy and need for women empowerment in liberating the nation.
He initiated a debate on the topic as two teams and speak the need for women empowerment ably and on significance of Pongal festival in imparting nation’s identity and uniqueness.Two teams from the staff and students participated in voicing out their sides.
The Principal, Dr. S. Thirumagan, asked students to be more civil while inside the campus and ask to take care of wastes generated. Waste generation has been happening and there is a need to recycle waste he said to benefit farmers and others.
Mr. T. Maharajah Pillai, proposed a vote of thanks thanking the Chief Guest, Mr. Mallar Mannan, the Principal Dr. S. Thirumagan together with the college staff and students in making this program a success.
The department prepared Pongal, distributed to staff and students and cultural programs in campus followed suit.
