INDEPENDENT AND CREATIVE WAYS OF LEARNING IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR: Dr. SUMIT NARULA

Dr. Sumit Narula as the HOI, believes in independent and creative ways of education, stressing on
hands- on experience and is always open to new and out of the box ideas of learning. Students from
ASCO (Amity School of Communication) Amity Gwalior, interviewed their HOI Dr. Sumit Narula, on
various topics concerning the Placements, Future perspective in Journalism and Mass Communication.
Dr. Sumit Narula, HOI-Director ASCO, Amity Gwalior has also worked as Program Coordinator,
Galgotias Educational Institutions and has been the Sub Editor at The Pioneer. He is a multifaceted
personality and has published many papers.

In the interview, he talked about the boons of working in media industry and the benefits students can
avail from a journalism and mass comm degree and how to go from there. He also advised students on
how to make best of the university education, make every second count and to pursue their interest
with passion and hard work.

He advised students to choose the profession they believe in and to put their talent there. He said that the key to success is persistence and creativity, that in an industry like media where sky is the limit, you must prove yourself every second and keep bringing something new to the table. The students were abreast about academia, student development and career in media by his requisite
guidance.
