The most feared moments would be those when one is left all alone to battle an unfriendly atmosphere. Keeping oneself cool under such circumstances would be no easy task by any means.
So it was Devrajan, a fisherman from Tamilnadu recently. He was in the midsea due to an accidental fall in the dark hours, but he is now safe, thanks to Indian Coast Guard.
According to sources from Defence Ministry, the fisherman was rescued by Indian Coast Guard Ship Vaibhav at 7:30 am on December 9.
The ship whilst on patrol in Gulf of Mannar received a wireless call for help regarding man overboard from the fishing boat which was about 60 kilometres south east of of Pamban Light on 8 January.
The ship immediately shaped course for the position and reached and commenced a calculated search so as to locate the fisherman at the earliest.
The Coast Guard Ship found and rescued Devrajan who had been in the water for nearly eight hours. He was immediately administered first aid by medical team on board Vaibhav and his condition is stated to be stable.
