RPF personnel win honours

The moment of pride arrived yet again for Railway Protection Force (RPF) wing of Southern Railway. Two of the personnel received felicitations from Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi.

According to sources, RPF personnel received honours in Bengaluru in the presence of Director General of RPF for saving the precious lives of passengers during their duty hours.

Two constables S.V. Jose and Jambulingam of Chennai division exhibited high degree of bravery and instant alertness on duty and saved the life of two passengers who had fallen down in the gap between the moving train and platform.

Both the constables were appreciated for their exemplary presence of mind and passenger safety consciousness. It is interesting to note that Jose while on duty 1 June this year at Chennai Egmore Railway Station noticed that Ashwini Kumar and his daughter Anmol Sharma attempting to board T.No.16865 Express on platform No.4, the girl lost her balance while boarding and fell into the gap, Jose acted swiftly and pulled her out of danger and saved her life.

Jambulingam when on duty on 9 June at Mambalam railway station noticed that a 15 year old girl lost her balance while attempting to board a local train and was about to fall in the gap between the platform and the train and jumped into action at the right moment and saved the life of the girl.
