RPF acts tough on fake railway ticketing

Whenever anti-social elements try to have their sway, Railway Protection Force (RPF) will always be there to act crack their whip on them. This has turned true once again. 

RPF unit of Southern Railway has acted tough on those who were into the business of selling fake railway tickets. ‘We have been taking measures to bring down those who sell fake train tickets,’ said a senior official from RPF. 

This time too our action on those selling fake tickets has continued, reminded the official. The drive to crack fake train ticket selling that took place from 28 to 30 August across six divisions in Southern Railway resulted in arrest of 32 persons and seizure of 279 tickets worth Rs 3,89,446. 

Sources further say, about 621 tickets worth Rs 12,71,393 that were seized were beyond the expiry date. Also, about 892 e-tickets were seized that were worth Rs 16,52,840. 

Apart from tickets, various other equipments like computer, printer, CPU were also seized during the drive. Cases were registered on all those 32 persons arrested.
