MAS-NJP Exp gets Utkrisht

There is a happy news on the railway front for Chennai. The existing rake of Train No 22611/12 Dr MGR Chennai Central to New Jalpaiguri weekly Express has got utkrisht coaches with apricot and red exterior painting on August 7.  Utkrisht coaches were provided as a part of second phase of Project Utkrisht. 

Phase II of Project Utkrisht sanctioned by Railway Board for Upgradation of 64 rakes at a total cost of Rs.67.75 crore in Southern Railway. This is the 16th Utkrisht rake of Southern Railway and fifth rake of Chennai division. 

The first run of the new Utkrisht rake of Train No 22611/12 from Dr.MGR Chennai Central took place at 11.00 am on August 7. The train with new upgrade was flagged off by T.A. Joachim, senior technician,  C and W at BBQ other officials of Southern Railway. 

Utkhrist rakes will have polyurethane painting on exteriors, expoxy flooring in  the toilet, vinyl wrapping of doorway and gangway. These rakes will also have LED lights for better illumination.
