Health, cleanliness get the deserved attn from S Rly

Cleanliness and health get top priority at Southern Railway, it can be said. Chennai division of Southern Railway commenced its ‘Swachchta-hi-Sewa’ campaign on September 11.

This is done keeping in view the commitment towards establishing clean surroundings by Indian Railways. The campaign began with administration of ‘Swachchta pledge’  for saying no to use of single use plastics to railway employees and passengers at Dr. Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Central Railway Station.

Divisional railway manager of Chennai division P Mahesh and team of other railway personnel were present at Central railway station. Shramdaan was organised at other major stations in Chennai divisions like Egmore, Tambaram, Chengalpet, Jolarpettai, Arakkonam and maintenance depots at Basin Bridge, Gopalsamy Nagar, Tambaram and Tondiarpet. The campaign will end on October 2.

Health
Greater Chennai Corporation personnel started a dengue awareness campaign at Chennai Egmore Station. Nilavembu kashayam was given to passengers there. Kashayam was served in steel tumblers to ensure the station remains free of plastic.
