Lifestyle changes due to COVID-19. Online education has got a major boost. Educational institutions among others have taken online education to a new level by offering classes, coaching, and courses.
In India students taking online classes for entrance exams like JEE & NEET, Navy, Air force, etc. Several schools across the country have started online classes. Students are attending classes virtually.
Communication apps are being embraced and we have become more hygiene more seriously. The ritual of washing hands, sanitizing things before use, that started as a compulsion is becoming a habit.
Work from home is the major change that has become a part of our lives. Well, honestly speaking it was never a new concept.
Many IT companies in the west and even in India has been practicing it with parenting and working at the same time. Digital life has become a habit. Watching live YouTube shows hours have become popular.
Similarly, people are getting used to WFH culture. According to law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, WFH will become a norm in the post- COVID world. Sanitizing things before use is likely to continue as people have recognized the need to stay healthy more so.
Will these changes continue after the lockdown is lifted? As they say, necessity is the mother of invention.
A first look at these changes reveals that people from all walks of life have imbibed the alterations. This does not mean life goes back to normal – the companies have to make all the preparatory arrangements to maintain social distancing in the offices.
One good thing that may come out of lifting the lockdown partially is that migrant labor and housemaids may be able to go back to work, but whether factory workers in the non-essential sectors would be able to go back soon is still an open question.
