Doing good work is bound to bring name and fame. Companies who did commendable work for empowering women have won awards.
Happiness knew no bounds for Mondelez and Kellogg’s, two companies that have units at Sri City have won ‘Best companies for women’ award at ‘Best of the Best Conference 2018’ at Sri City recently. The event was organised by Avatar Group in association with US-based gender parity champion ‘Working Mother Media.’
Founder managing director of Sri City Ravindra Sannareddy said it was a matter of immense pride for them, as two of their esteemed customers bagged ‘Best Companies for Women’ award.
This distinction is in recognition of their inclusive, non-discriminatory, employee-oriented practices that have empowered women to work in a progressive environment, he said.
The awards were given based on BCWI 2018 study which was done across various companies on parametres namely workforce profile, Flexible work, women recruitment and retention, benefits and work-life programme, parental leave, best practises for women’s career enablement and advancements and company culture and management accountability.
It is interesting to note that companies across various segments have taken initiatives in empowering women long ago. For instance, in Rising Star (a unit of Foxconn) itself, as high as 15000 women are employed.
Similarly, some more units, such as Mondelez, Kellogg’s, Pals Plush, Everton Tea, MSR Garments, KGI Clothing, Unicham, Colgate Palmolive, etc have a large women workforce, at different levels.
The percentage of women ranges between 20 to 95 in these units. They built a safe and secure work environment and introduced a host of women-friendly features at their factories.
