Tejas coaches unveiled by the glorious organisation

When it comes to making train travel a better experience Integral Coach Factory (ICF) has something to offer that can turn into a delight for train travellers.
Previously, the prestigious coach making organisation for Indian Railways came out with Train 18 with host of features offering safety and comfort for travellers. Not long after that was over, ICF has now come out with coaches for Tejas Express.
While the first set of Tejas coaches were flagged off from the shell division premises on 30 November by a senior most employee of ICF, sources from the organisation say ICF is planning to manufacture 23 Tejas coaches of which 18 are air-conditioned chair cars, two are air-conditioned executive chair cars and three are power cars.
Unlike the earlier Tejas coaches where seats are large to accommodate the audio visual display, the Tejas coaches manufactured by ICF have normal sized seats with audio visual display units well fitted behind every seat, without compromising on the aesthetics of the interiors.
Like the Shatabdi coaches, Tejas coaches also have a seating capacity of 78 passengers in each of the normal air-conditioned chair cars (in 3+2 Seating row arrangement) and 56 passengers in the executive class air-conditioned chair cars (in 2+2 Seating row arrangement).
Features of Tejas
The modern and passenger friendly features of Tejas coaches are FRP interior panels, ergonomic seats, smart windows with motor operated venetian blinds sandwiched between the glasses, on-board infotainment with live TV, audio, video.
Couple of other features are GPS based passenger information system, LED lighting, automatic plug doors, audio visual entertainment display system, embedded in the dining table for the centre seat passengers and  behind every  seat for others, folding snack tray concealed below the hand rest of the coaches, USB charging point behind every seat, LED lighting inside the mirror with touch button on surface in the toilets.
A couple of features of Train 18 have also been included in the Tejas coaches and they are CCTVs both inside the compartments and in the entrance points, FRP modular toilets with bio-vacuum system and touch free amenities,
sealed vestibules/gangways for easy coach-to-coach transit, sliding coach doors and automatic passenger area entry doors.
