Train coach maker celebrates 70th R-Day

Patriotism ruled the roost at RPF parade ground on January 26 as Integral Coach Factory (ICF) celebrated 70th Republic Day. 
N. K. Gupta, principal chief electrical engineer,  unfurled the national flag and received the guard of honour and reviewed the parade by the RPF contingents, students of ICF Technical Training School, Scouts and Guides, St John Ambulance Brigade headed by RPF Inspector Gyan Chandra.
Gupta said ICF has rolled out 2340 coaches as of 31 December last year and will be exceeding the target of 3230 coaches fixed by Railway Board that includes a lot of new types of coaches like EMU with flexible solar panel, Nilgiri Mountain Railway coaches, AC Eelectrical Multiple Units and Diesel Eelectrical Multiple Units.
ICF has successfully brought out Train 18, India’s first semi high-speed train set that has touched a speed of 180 kmph during trials. 
He also said other notable production from ICF during the last year was underslung Mainline Electric Multiple Unit, Self Propelled Inspection Car and added that the new generation Air-conditioned Electric Multiple Units for Mumbai suburban travel are under production at ICF. 
Speaking about achievements on the sports front, he said that ICF continued to excel by becoming Champions in the All India Railway Volleyball Championships for the fifth consecutive year and runners up in the Women’s State Level Volley Ball Tournament, Inter Railway Chess Championships for the fourth consecutive year and winning gold and silver medals in common wealth men’s and women’s championships. 
ICF has been rated as ‘GreenCo Gold’ organisation under GreenCo Rating System due to consistent green steps by them on all fronts. The organisation has also received the Environment and Cleanliness Shield and the award for Best Transformation initiatives for the year 2017-18.
Mallakhamb, rope mallakhamb, mallakhamb pole, a traditional physical skill show by the RPF personnel and  school children was organised. Silambattam was performed on a patriotic song. Demonstration by the RPF sniffer dogs, entertained the large audience gathered for the republic day function. ICF personnel and their families took part in the celebrations.
