Sputnik V is safest among all COVID-19 vaccines, no deaths recorded: Buenos Aires study

Russia was the first country to officially register a coronavirus vaccine in August. The vaccine has been named Sputnik V. It was developed by Russia’s Gamaleya Research institute. Sputnik V was launched in the country on May 14 by Hyderabad based pharmaceutical company Dr.Reddy laboratories limited (DRL).

The study by the Buenos Aires Ministry of health to monitor the safety of the Sputnik V vaccine against COVID- 19 confirmed on Thursday that it the safest among the other vaccines. Sputnik V shows the safest profile among COVID vaccines used in the Buenos Aires province in Argentina, no deaths related to vaccination recorded by the provincial health ministry, tweeted Sputnik V.

As per the record, there were no deaths recorded related to the Russian vaccine, and the most common effects were mild fever, headache, pain at the site of application. The study showed that the events supposedly attributable to vaccine or immunization were mostly mild. Among the most frequent are fever ( 47 per cent), headache ( 47 per cent ), Myalgia’s and arthralgia’s (39.5 per cent), pain (46.5 per cent), and swelling( 7.4 per cent) in the area where the injection was jabbed, said the Buenos Aires province health ministry, in a statement. The investigation of each ESAVI involves classifying it according to a series of categories established by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

Meanwhile, on WHO concern over Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine points with the filing of vials is one plant, the Pharmastandard – UfaVITA mentioned that the problems didn’t relate to the protection or efficacy of the vaccine itself, the plant is accountable just for pouring into vials doses of Sputnik V vaccine produced elsewhere. The Sputnik V vaccine undergoes strictest double high-quality output management of the Gamaleya institute and the Russian well-being regulator (federal healthcare service Roszdravnadzor), mentioned OJSC Pharmstandard- UfaVITA assertion.
