The canteen gets a lot of crowd since the lock-down. But the concern for them is that the people working here have not been provided any kind of mask or sanitizer by the government.

Apart from this, he and his staff come here from far-flung areas of the city. Due to the vehicle’s availability, they and their employees have to face a lot of difficulty in coming to work.

Even if a member of his family comes to leave him, he has to go through the Checking of the Police. Their only demand is that they should also have ID card and pass system from the government.

If the government arranges for them with ID cards and passes, then they and their families will get rid of the problem. She explains that this problem comes not only with them but with all the employees working in the Amma canteen.

In this time of lock-down, when the people are working for us, then the government should also think about our safety and convenience. For the common people, where the government is distributing sanitizers and masks, we should also provide such facilities for the people.

In the current times, free food is provided to government employees and the elderly in this Amma canteen. According to a data, since March 24, 26.32 lakh idlis, 7.27 lakh rice food products and 15.03 lakh rotis have been sold in 4.07 lakh Amma canteens in Chennai.
