The budget offers little hope for people into business of jewelery

The budget offers little hope for people into business of jewelery, said Jayanthilal J Challani, president, Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants Association (MJDMA).

Our request to reduce import duty on gold did not yield expected results. Import duty was enhanced in the recent budget, this will not go well with business, common people may not show interest to purchase gold as it becomes pricey. This may also give rise to illegal gold trade.

Budget has nothing to make the young population happy

The recently presented budget has nothing to make the young population happy. Nothing new was said about employment generation, said Youth Congress leader Amardeep.

Employment generation potential in the schemes announced also comes under doubt. Unemployment  during the previous rule of the central government is breaking all records. Budget could have focused strongly on schemes for youth and employment generation for them.

FM has rightly focused on the youth of the country and education

Dr. Yajulu Medury, Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad said the union budget was welcome. The FM has rightly focused on the youth of the country and education is the tool for development.

The commitment to bringing in the new education policy and make sweeping changes in how education is imparted with the focus on learning outcomes will play a big role in bettering the education level, he said.
