TN Govt works for betterment of students

Tamilnadu government is working for the betterment of students, said K Pandiarajan, Tamilnadu Minister for Tamil Language and Tamil Culture K Pandiarajan. 

Welfare of students has always been a matter of high importance for the government, he said speaking at a programme organised by FIITJEE, an organisation into training IIT aspirants on June 30.

There were days when students from Tamilnadu were known to secure more number of seats in IIT and medical courses, he said. However, as time moved ahead these numbers witnessed a decline. 

Keeping this in view, we have brought changes in the currculum and marks system. We are confident these changes will usher in betterment. 

About 12 percent of students from Tamilnadu used to pass competitive exams like JEE, NEET a few decades ago, currently that has declined to 4.5 percent, we hope the changes made recently will increase the pass percentage, he said. Fouder chancellor of Vels University Ishari K Ganesh, former general manager of Southern Railway R K Kulshrestha were among others present.
