Children bring out their creative ability

The moment turned colourful when children put their creative ability to use to bring out an artwork. The painting contest organised by Indian Coast Guard (ICG) saw over 450 school students paint on various themes of relevance like ‘Armed Forces,’ ‘Swachch Bharat’ and ‘Fit India.’

The contest was organised to mark 44th Raising Day of ICG and as a part of ICG Week Celebrations 2020 at Coast Guard Air Station in Meenambakkam.

The things were not easy for the participants as they had to vie with fellow participants and explore their creative talent and bring out their a painting that can impress the judges also.

Mr. Chellappa, professor, AM Jain College and Ms Meenakashi Madan, professor, Stella Maris College took the work of juding the paintings. They put to use their expertise in their domains.

Victory adorned D. Amal, Class IV, MMHS School with first prize in the first category which was meant for students of classes 1 to 5. R Sayali A Queen, VII, Mont Fort School, Chennai stood first in the second category which was meant of students of classes 6 to 8 and CJ Shabakniclara Joy, X, Mont Fort School, Chennai was adjudged winner in the third category which was for students of 9 to 12. All students received participation certificates.

The school children were also acquainted with ICG’s air assets namely dornier, a fixed wing aircraft used for maritime reconnaissance and surveillance and chetak, a rotary wing aircraft used for search and rescue operations.
