Air warriors join IAF

The moment was filled with pride for those 357 air warriors who joined Indian Air Force (IAF). The moment to commence their glorious journey of serving the nation arrived. Air warriors displayed their mettle at an impressive passing out parade at Tambaram Air Force station on 27 June. 

They got prepared to commence their service journey after a rigorous training at Workshop Training Institute (WTI) at Air Force station, Tambaram. Apart from this, seven Defence personnel from armed forces of friendly foreign countries also completed the training successfully.

Air Commodore MS Awana, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Tambaram was the chief guest of the function.  He was received by Group Captain M Murugan, Commanding Officer, Workshop Training Institute. Meritorious trainees were awarded trophies at the function. The passing out trainees were administered oath. 

Air Commodore Awana complemented the air warriors their immaculate turn-out. He said that they must strive for professional excellence. He also brought out that with the induction of the state-of-the art aircraft, equipment and weapon system, IAF is witnessing major changes in operational philosophy. 

The IAF today is on the path of transforming itself into a strategic force of great calibre. He urged the air warriors to make sustained efforts towards continuous enhancement of their technical knowledge and skills by keeping themselves abreast with the latest changes. He also advised the trainees to maintain exemplary conduct at all times, in keeping with the ethos of the service.
