The rise of TVK has changed the tone of Tamil Nadu politics. What began as a celebrity-driven political entry has now grown into a serious force that is influencing voters, campaign narratives and post-election analysis. Vijay’s meeting with elected MLAs and senior leaders on Tuesday further underlined that TVK is no longer being treated as just a newcomer. It is being watched as a party with the potential to shape the next phase of the state’s politics.
The celebrations around him, especially among fans, show the emotional energy his leadership has generated. Crackers, cheers and nonstop enthusiasm have turned his political success into a public spectacle. Later, Vijaykanth and Kamal Haasan also tried to turn popularity into votes, with only limited success.
Vijay’s case is being seen differently because his appeal seems to be working across both image and emotion. Many of the candidates who won under the TVK banner were not widely known outside their local areas, yet Vijay’s personal brand helped them gain visibility and support.
