Tech fest at IIT Madras

IIT Madras is back with its grand annual festival Shaastra which attracted 40,000 students last year. This year, the fest will start from January 4 and like every year it promises a host of competitions, workshops, and exhibitions.

The student-run technical festival is ISO certified and this year it will also include spotlight lecture series, hack-a-thons, aero fest, green energy summit, carbon zero-challenge, rural energy challenge and EDM night.

The spotlight lecture series feature speakers include speakers, Prashant Bhushan lawyer, activist and politician, host of TV show MAD and renowned artist Rob, waterman of India, Rajendra Singh, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Ada Yonath, and Olympic silver medalist in badminton P V Sindhu among others.

A series of events are lined up for students with an inclination for business, competitions on branding, big data analytics, supply chain management and start-ups. While technical events are scheduled during the day, techno-entertainment  the evenings.
