MOP Vaishnav College’s Project Thozhil Seiyallam Thozhi 2019-2020

“THOZHIL SEIYALLAM THOZHI”, which goal is to align responsible citizens to be socially inclined and aware, was launched last July 13, Saturday, declaring the academic year 2019-20 as the year for the project by M.O.P. Vaishnav College at S.K.D.J. Higher Secondary School, Thiruverkadu, Chennai – 77.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Lalitha Balakrishnan, Principal, M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women (Autonomous) and Member, Syndicate, University of Madras who distributed skills training kits to the beneficiaries. Mr. M. Paul Ebenezer, Principal, S.K.D.J. Hr. Sec. School, Mr. R. Velu, 13 th Ward Secretary and Mr. G. Yoganandham, 12 th Ward ex MC were present for the function.

One hundred thirty women from villages in and around Thiruverkadu undertook the skill training. The motto of this project is to cultivate entrepreneurship skills among them and to enable economic independence and empowerment.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Lalitha Balakrishnan, Principal, M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women (Autonomous) and Member, Syndicate. It was then followed by a workshop training for the following skill development :

1. Agarbatti Making
2. Pot and Diya Painting
3. Quilling and Tassel Jewellery Making
4. Quilled Envelope Covers
5. Hairstyle and Makeup
6. Chat, Sandwich and Beverage making

7. Candle Making
8. Paper Bag Making
