Famed school to witness reunion of alumni

For the rest of India this January 26 will evoke a strong feeling of patriotism, for Vidyodaya Schools that day would be special for another reason. It is on this Republic Day the old students of the school will have a reunion.
According to a press release, the event being organised by Vidyodaya Schools Alumni Association (Poorva Vidhyarthini Samaj) on Saturday (26 January). The programme will start by 3 pm at Vidyodaya School auditorium.
The reunion is being held for over 19 years so that past students may get together informally and get and update about school activities. Teachers who are about to retire are honoured on that day, former teachers also are felicitated. About 12 scholarships amounting to Rs. 1.2 lakh (Rs. 10,000 each ) will be given to students from low socio-economic backgorund and studying in Vidyodaya schools.
These scholarships have been given regularly by the alumni for over 12 years and they hope to increase the number and amount every year. It will also be be an afternoon of fun and games, nostalgia and a sumptuous high tea.
Vidyodaya schools is over 94 years old and has always striven to give an all-round holistic education for girls, focusing on academics, sports, cultural and overall development.
Boys were also educated in the school till fifth standard upto 1970. Several well known personalities have passed out of this institution.
