The best way to put our life on the growth path is to have a full-fledged plan, was the point driven home during 15th convocation day of SRM Valliammai Engineering College on July 6.

Addressing the graduands Sathappan Narayanan, managing director, Accenture said they should know what their interests are and plan their work strategies according to that. ‘If you are able to work without knowing the timings, are able to stretch work even on weekends, leave days with no much hassles, then we can say you have interest in it.’

Be prepared to innovate, work regularly, said Mr Narayanan. It is better we work towards doing something meaningful and fail rather than doing nothing. Graduands must be market relevant where one has to keep themselves up to date. ‘Companies spend lot of resources on keeping themselves market relevant. It is like being on a running drum. One has to be focused always on staying abreast of latest developments.’

Managing director Narayanan further said one must also align their vision with the of the priorities of the stake holders. Organisation where we work, its management, its clients, superiors, peers are the stakeholders and our thoughts have to go hand-in-hand with theirs.

About 829 graduates got their degrees and 13 of them were Anna University rank holders. SRM Institute of Science and Technology vice chancellor Sandeep Sancheti, director of SRM Valliammai Engineering College were among others present.
