A Special Camp Organized by SRM- NSS for School Children

NSS cell of SRM organized a special camp for school children recently by the Govt. Primary School at Thiruthaveli Village, Kanchipuram District.

Dr. Vaithiyanathan, Director of Sports, inaugurated the tree planting program along with Dr. T. Rajasekaran, NSS Program Coordinator. Dr. Vaithiyanathan addressed the gathering and he emphasized the importance of nature and protecting natural resources as one of the primary duty of every individual. Followed by the water drums that carries drinking water, writing pads with Clean India printed on it in Tamil and English. Ceiling fans and different sport goods were donated to school children.

Some of the activities conducted by SRM- NSS are survey and awareness on disposal of solid wastes among villagers are: tree planting, wall paintings on phonetics, swachh bharat and the awareness cleaning slogans of Schools and Temple, awareness to students on personal hygiene, dental care and prevention of parasites infestation and conduction of English speaking class for students.

The special camp concluded with the vote of thanks by a parent thanking the team of SRM NSS for their efforts in making the children understand the importance of saving nature and for shaping a better environmental future.
