Change of guard at Engine Factory, new General Manager takes charge

R Shyam Sunder has taken charge as general manager at Engine Factory Avadi on 15 February. According to a press release from Ministry of Defence, Shyam Sunder took over as his predecessor was transferred as general manager of Field Gun Factory in Kanpur.

Shyam Sunder, an alumnus of Bangalore University is also  a post graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Roorkee University and post graduate diploma in management from MDI, Gurgaon.

He belongs to 1988 batch of Indian Ordnance Factories Service and in his career, he has held many key positions in various Ordnance Factories of Armoured Division for 30 years where the Officer has headed Combat Vehicle Production Group, Quality Assurance Group and Maintenance of Plant and Machinery including state-of-the-art CNC machines. 
The Officer has also looked after Planning and Co-ordination of Issue of Armoured Vehicles and their spares to Indian Army. He has organised for successful conduct of User Interaction Meet on behalf of HVF for Tanks at Field locations. He was also conferred with ‘Ayudh Bhushan Award’ for his outstanding contribution to defence production.
