On Wednesday, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unleashed a vicious attack on Congressman Rahul Gandhi, charging him and his party with disseminating incorrect information regarding the Agniveer Yojana and misleading the public.
“Rahul Gandhi is trying to misguide the public,” Defence Minister Singh stated in an interview with ANI. For a considerable amount of time, the Armed Forces have needed fresh blood. This concept was created following extensive negotiations, bearing in mind that involvement with the military services is limited in nations such as the US, Israel, China, Britain, and Russia.”
Along with his accusations, he stated that Agniveer soldiers receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs 44 lakh and Rs 12 lakh as part of a one-time Seva Nidhi package. He also accused the Congress of propagating false information that Agniveer soldiers won’t receive any pay for their duty.
“Congress party has been spreading false information that the Agniveer soldiers won’t get any pay for their service but the truth is that after their engagement, the Agniveers receive Rs 12 lakh under one-time Seva Nidhi package and also an ex-gratia amount of Rs 44 lakh,” according to him.
Singh added that those Agniveers who are not retained after fulfilling the required service period have been given preference in government positions.
“Out of all the Agniveers, 25 per cent will serve in the army on a regular basis based on their merit and for the left ones, provision has been made for government jobs in many states like UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Odisha and Goa,” Singh stated to ANI.
The Minister of Defence went on to say that if an agiver is murdered while serving, their family will get Rs 1.5 crore.
“The Congress party has disseminated yet another falsehood, claiming that the families of fallen agniveers receive nothing in return. However, let me clarify that in the event that an agniveer is murdered while performing his duties, his family is entitled to receive Rs 1.5 crore. The Defence Minister added, “The government has also inked Memorandums of Understanding with various banks wherein Agniveers are given insurance of Rs 50 lakh to 1 crore for which they do not have to pay any premium.”
Saying that even Goebbels from Hitler’s time would have chuckled at the lies told by the Congress party, Ranjath Singh poked fun at the party.
There is no doubt, according to Singh, that the BJP can form the government in Haryana for a third term in a row. The BJP will also secure more seats than it did the last time around.
“There is no question. You have to be aware of the public’s reaction to the rallies; the people of Haryana have spoken, and the BJP will form the government. The BJP party will secure a larger number of seats than it did previously, and a clear majority government will be created,” he said.
Elections for Haryana’s 90-member state legislature are scheduled for October 5; the results will be tallied on October 8. The Congress got 30 seats and the BJP took 40 seats to emerge as the single-largest party in the 2019 elections. The BJP is optimistic that it will win a third term in power in the state.
